Vasha started her Middle Eastern dance training at age 11. She found an uncanny natural talent for it, moving up to advanced classes only a few short months after beginning. During her first few years in belly dance she trained with almost every dancer the area had to offer, learning all she could from each one before moving on to the next. At age 14 Vasha was asked to join Najia's award winning dance troupe, 1001 Dreams. She spent a year training and performing with them before she decided to pursue a career as a soloist. Now Vasha is a seasoned professional who performs and teaches across the USA. She continues to spend a lot of time on training, attending workshops with the best dancers in the world. She also continues taking regular private lessons with Habiba in Philadelphia, and Faten Salama in Washington DC, both master teachers of Egyptian dance. Her goal in dance is to keep the authentic Egyptian style alive in the American belly dance scene. She makes an effort to learn many Middle Eastern folk styles of dance and to include them in her performances and classes. Because of her age and amazing skill level, Vasha has always had lots of media attention. She has been featured in many magazines, online articles, news papers, and even on television!
